This year Unaccompanied Baggage had two concerts – our 25th anniversary concert on August 30th (where we raised nearly $3,000 for Youth off the Streets) and our part of the annual Singup Concert (for all of Stuart’s choirs) which raised $5,693 for Medicins Sans Frontieres.
The annual Singup concert was one of Unaccompanied Baggage’s best concerts – we sang I’m on my Way (the Proclaimers), Meet me in the Middle of the Air (Paul Kelly) and Sunshine on Leith (the Proclaimers again).
We are having a concert on August 30th to celebrate 25 years of Unaccompanied Baggage. Put it in your diary now! It will be at the North Sydney Leagues Club at Cammeray.
Last week Stuart brought in the recording equipment, and we recorded a few things. Here to start is Am I not Pretty Enough, by Kasey Chambers. Don’t the basses sound fantastic with the tune!
Last year’s massed number from the concert was Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody (yes it supposed to be dark at the beginning). It was fantastic to be a part of. Enjoy!
Thanks to John Lyndon, Harvey Broadbent (one of our soloists), we have footage of the concert at Mosman last year.
First, And So it Goes, with Harvey singing the solo:
then God’s gift to Women, with Meryl Hancock on solo:
then Days Like This
and the finale, the ever popular Build me up Buttercup.
Here are videos from Baggage’s end of year concert in Mosman. Together with other choirs, we managed to raise $8,039 for Mag International, a charity working to reduce the devastating effects of armed violence and remnants of conflicts on people around the world.
First, four seasons in one day:

Oh what a world, by Rufus Wainwright, with Sandy Axam solo
Something’s got a hold on me, with Louise Howells solo:
